    try to reduce the padding and margins of the menu items, using css.

    you could use a browser inspection tool such as Firebug or the 'right-click' - 'inspect element' functionality of some browsers, to find out where the formatting of the menu items comes from.

    to get any suggestions, please post a link to your site to illustrate the problem.

    as this is a pure formatting issue, you might better ask in a css forum like http://csscreator.com/forum

    ideally, post those theme specific questions under the theme's support section http://wordpress.org/support/theme/spine

    a possible css fix would be:

    ul.inline-list > li, ul.link-list > li { margin-left: 16px; }

    either added to the bottom of style.css, or edited in the corresponding style.

    is it possible lower it the very bottom?

    you might need to look into foooter.php of the theme, to see what you can move there.

    possibly (totally untested) change the <footer> section to:

    <footer class="row">
    	<div class="twelve columns">
    		<hr />
    		<div class="row">
    			<div class="six columns">
    				<?php hybrid_footer_content(); ?>
    			</div>
    		</div>
    			<div class="twelve columns">
    				<?php get_template_part( 'menu', 'subsidiary' ); // Loads the menu-subsidiary.php template. ?>
    			</div>
    	</div>
    </footer>

    will need further formatting...
