How Can I Get My Comments to Ping? (3 posts)

I am putting up a review site with WordPress and the comments system is going to be tweaked to allow people to write their reviews.

Some of my sites might get 10-20 reviews p/day with some of them being longer than the actual post itself. This means that the comments will eventually constitute more of the site's content than the actual post.

That being the case, I would like to be able to ping my ping list whenever a new comment is approved and goes live. Is there a plugin or hack that will ping the post itself when a new comment is applied to it?

My understanding was that the purpose of sending out a ping when you post is to put the world on notice (through the ping services) that there is new content on your site.

While there may not be a new POST on your site, I feel that comments (esp if they make up more than 70% of all content on your site) may, in certain circumstances, rate pinging the post to let it be known that something new is there...even it the post itself is a year or two old.
