How can I get a Post in a slider to link instead to a Category List?

Okay. This is weird, I know, but SOMEbody else must have run into this.

I have a StudioPress Genesis theme, and I’m using their Slider widget on the front page. It can be configured to read categories and display certain pages, or it can display certain posts – based on categories.

I’ve build a site for a local business. I’m using the slider to display specific posts. But I’d like to be able to add a Post that automagically redirects to a Category Link page, in other words, as you can do in the menu, where you program a menu item to display a page generated to show all posts within a particular category.

So let’s say you’d see four posts, all from the “carousel” category in the slider. Three of them link directly to their related posts. One of them, instead of linking to the post, would auto-forward to the generated page that displays all of the posts tagged with a particular tag (for instance, “Sale Merchandise”).

Anybody know how to make a post auto-redirect?
