How can I display wordpress content outside wordpress directory

Hi,

how can I make widgets with certain blog posts,categories,photos (from domain.com/blog) to be displayed in another directory which is not part of wordpress (domain.com or domain.com/about)

I was thinking of creating a php file with the information that I need and include it in other php file in homepage or other directory but it is obviously impossible.

please tell me what is the easiest way?
