How can I customize my navbar? (2 posts)

I've been learning css and finally got my blog resembling what I'd like it to look like: http://www.engberts-kaya.com.

What I can't figure out is how to
    a. add pages (is that what they're called?) to my navbar
    b. make my navbar look different

If I found a navbar that I really liked on a different theme, could I adapt it to my own theme, or does that involve huge coding?

I'd like to have a navbar that looks like this or this.

I don't mind doing the nitty-gritty - just don't know where to start.

Okay to answer the first question, adding pages to your Navbar, simply go to Write>Pages and create new pages as you want/need them......once they are Published they will appear in your Navbar.

As for making it look how you want it to look, that is controlled in your CSS file, so you can download the theme(s) that you like and see how they handle it in their CSS file, or just try making some changes in your own (after backing it up of course! :) )

Generally speaking (in viewing the sites you like) you'll want to look in your stylesheet for a section like this: #menu li { and add to it some things like padding and a border, and maybe change the background color. If you need more help with CSS try Googling CSS - there are a few hundred sites with very helpful information on it....
