How can i allow users to create a new topic

    I have just started on WordPress and know nothing.

    I have setup my site… looks very nice…

    as the admin i can create categories and then i can post an idea and people can then comment on my ideas…

    But i want to encourage my site users to CREATE their ideas as a post and then I and others can comment on those ideas –

    Really i want to do on my site exactly what i am doing on WordPress site – allow subscribers to Create a New Topic and let others comment on it — How do i do that?

    I would like to do something similar, but cannot seem to add users. Have had any luck?

    you can allow users to register as authors. its all set in your admin under options or settings depending on which version of wp youre using. you wanna change your membership setting and your New User Default Role setting
