If your theme has a footer widget area, you can get plugins for all kinds of social media /email stuff, most have widgets that can be used in your footer widget area.
If your theme doesn’t have a footer widget area, many of the plugins have template tags which may work in your footer.php file.
Hi deepbevel,
Which plugins are you talking about? i tried looking for some. and couldn’t find any.
search the plugin repository, use search terms like “social networking, facebook, twitter, ect.
Does your theme have a footer wifget area? if so try this
here’s a demo on one of my sites, it come with the widget you see in the footer, and the buttons can be pre expanded if you like.
In my demo, the “connect with me” widget in the left footer is hard coded in a text widget, which comes with wp.
it’s just links, code look like this
<a href ="mailto:hollymedbery@me.com">hollymedbery@me.com</a>

Hi Deepbevel. thank you for your assistance really-i loved your demo by the way.
but this is not what i meant at all. if you check the link i posted earlier http://www.visualnews.com/2012/06/27/sound/ , you will see a grayish bar at the bottom of the browser saying (LOVE VISUAL NEWS? THEN LIKE US ON FACEBOOK:……). This bottom bar floats with the page as you scroll down. this is what i am looking for.

fit’s the description of “blog/email bar, if you want an exact layout you’ll have to somehow figure out what plugin that is.
there are probably dozens that do very similar. perhaps you’ll find one that’s close enough.
i have been trying for the past week. i am not able to get my hand on one. π
I sent out the great plugin hounds, they returned with this
check out the video under the installation tab.
Who is a great plugin hound??? :)))
i know this plugin very well. it is a social media plugin that floats across the site. It has a major flow though. it is not compatible with tablets and mobiles.
the hounds are asking, are you sure this floating idea works on mobile devices? they say they found this, works on mobile devices., can be on the bottom, but probably not a floater.
i contacted the developer as i was facing problems with it on mobile + tablets so he said that he didn’t upgrade it to work on mobiles. what happens is that the floating mechanism pushes the whole website to the edge which means sidebars do not show. i had to remove it.
have you seen one that works?
floating? digg digg is quite cool. sharethis is also nice
sorry, I lost the link to the one I refer to above, but it doesn’t float.
