   Hi all,

   I have been looking to use WordPress to replicate the layout and information organisation of this site: http://www.sitepoint.com/recentarticles/

   Going through the plugins yield me a lot of options - WordPress NAVT, Organise Series, Post Thumb, Wp-DTTree, category-magic, Redirection plugin - it's simply overwhelming.

   Here are what I am trying to do. The reference site is this:
   http://www.sitepoint.com/recentarticles/

   1) Able to display a widget/frame that displays a specific category, and the sub categories under it (the left-hand navigation bar of the site).

   2) Tag a thumbnail, or an icon, to the summary/excerpt of a post, along with its meta-info

   3) Have a "page" in the menu bar that actually redirects to another page

   Any help will be appreciated. I am trying a lot of plugins to find what I find and will post back my results, but if anyone has any suggestions for me I would be really appreciative! (I list your names in the credits of my site. Promise! And hype the power of WordPress too!)
