• Hi Jeff (and other people),

    Question:

How can I make sure that for the TML front-end pages (Login, Register, …) the TML translation file theme-my-login-nl_NL.mo is used instead of the WordPress language file nl_NL.mo?

    Background:

The Dutch language files (theme-my-login-nl_NL.po and .mo) needed some serious improvements, so I spent a few hours to make corrections.

However, when I put the language files into use by copying them to the folder /wp-content/languages/theme-my-login, I found that this worked for the Dutch translation in the back-end (the plugin configuration GUI) but it had no effect for the front-end (the login etc. pages).

After checking that this was not caused by caching, I found out that text strings in /wp-content/languages/theme-my-login/theme-my-login-nl_NL.po that are used, for example, in class-theme-my-login-template.php, are the same strings as in the WordPress language file /wp-content/languages/nl_NL.po. Editing the strings in the WordPress language file did work for the TML pages!

By the way, if you are interested in the improved Dutch translation, I will be happy to send it to you. Just let me know how.
