It would be helpful to a visitor to my site to hover over any nav-bar tab and see a box of text appear that offers general info on the content under that tab. This would be in addition to the drop-down of other structural titles.

In order to not make this feature to become bothersome, it would be helpful to have a “stop displaying this text” link that de-activates this popup feature on subsequent visits.

It may be best for this popup to appear on top of the sidebar while it is active. This is merely a Nicety – not an important feature that HAS to be implemented

  • I think that what you want to do is create some tooltip. You can do this if you want, but you will have to alter your theme. This isn’t a custom feature of WordPress.

Thank you, Christine. The word “tooltip” did the trick – there are plugins that come close to doing what I want. I will look at various plugins and scour the net now that I have a way to get started. Thank you very much. I will mark this as resolved.

Awesome! Good luck implementing the tool tips.
