• I saw the post about WordPressu that allows hosting and automatic installationf or others. However, it is stated that that software is not stable yet. I need stable software as I can not support it myself.

I wrote a couple emails to WordPress.com to see if they would sell the installtion program they use, but have not heard back as yet.

Does anyone know of other programs out there that would allow my users to set up their own blog on my domain as a subdomain?

    Thank you

    Gary

  • using WordPress and automation? that will require some server side work. In case you have not done it, and before you dabble with automated hosting for WordPress, do some research. there’s a lot of factors you need to put in perspective including but not limited to:

    trackback spam
    comment spam
    mod_security rulesets
running PHP as cgi (mod_fcgi) with suExec
    splogs (spam logs)
    centralized phpMyAdmin frontend (important!)

i know of several hosting operations that didn’t not consider the above and suffered the consequences. good luck with your venture! 🙂

Well WordPressMU is pretty stable–I believe that’s what wordpress.com uses.
