• Last night i’ve updated my blog to 2.6
I just got this from godaddy:

    Discussion Notes
    Support Staff Response
    Dear Sir/Madam,

Regarding your shared hosting account, mysiteurl

Our administrators have alerted us to a CPU over usage issue regarding your site. It appears that you have an installation of WordPress which is making hundreds of thousands of recursive calls to itself. This has caused a very high load on the CPU and has negatively effected server performance and the performance of other customer’s sites. As such, we have had to migrate your site to an isolated server. Your site will be allowed to remain on this isolated server for a maximum of 30 days. After this time, your site will be re-evaluated. If the load produced by your site has been significantly reduced, your site will be migrated back to a normal hosting server. If the load produced by your site is not significantly reduced, your account will face suspension. You may want to inquire with the publisher of the application for assistance with this issue.

Please let us know if you have any questions.

    Thank you,
    Moe F.

^ maybe i should add, my blog gets hardly 100 unique visits a day. I have no idea what can cause this

Rename the wp-cron.php file immediately. That should stop the behavior for now.

Then look around for wp-cron threads, you might have a stuck job or something. This is probably not a 2.6 specific issue.

Also, look for the Crontrol plugin, it will let you see and adjust what cron jobs are pending and possibly delete them.

Where can i find that Control plugin?
I’ve also installed gears yesterday… don’t know if it has anything to do with it.

You know, this site as well as the internet in general has really good search functionality…

    thanks.
Well.. the only cron job i have pending is the backup one. so im guessing its not the cron?

Without more information it’s impossible to tell. They say “hundreds of thousands of recursive calls to itself”, but wp-cron is the only thing that hits itself from WordPress.

You need to find out what it is doing.

how can i do that? i’ve tried contacting them but it takes up to 24 hours until i get a response. I’ve changed the wp-cron.php in the mean time. will it affect my blog in any way besides the fact that i can’t secdule backups?
The funny thing is,i just saw that they sent my another email earlier:

    another thing i’ve noticed.
the plugin Post Thumb Revisited takes for ever to load the thumbnails, i remember in the past it had some cpu issues. When i try to go to the author site i get a virus warning: http://www.alakhnor.com
Is it possible he is using his plugins for something other than displaying thumbnails?
