I’ve sorted the root domain problem.
How do I make the homepage the default template (sidebar) instead of full width? I’ve selected “Default Template” in the page editor but still no change?
Thanks 🙂
Battlarts,
In fruitful theme default home page template it’s front-page.php you can remove it.
Hi Fruitful Code,
Thank you very much for your reply. Do I simply delete the front-page.php?
Yes, just remove or rename front-page.php
Add widgets to Main sidebar
I am having a similar problem but a little different.
I have set my homepage to be a static page and it is my welcome page for my site. However I would also like the recent posts to show up on the right side of my homepage like it does for all of my other pages but I cannot figure out how to do this.
I do not want my homepage do just be my recent posts but for my homepage to have the right sidebar for recent posts. Is this possible?
Fruitful Code – Thank you very much! Worked great!
loveyourbirth – I renamed front-page.php to front-page_.php and the homepage now inherits the default template with sidebar.
I created two separate pages. One for my latest posts (‘Blog’) and another for my homepage (‘Home’). In Settings >> Reading… “Front page:” must be set to your static homepage (‘Home’) and “Posts page:” must be set to the page you want your latest posts to appear (‘Blog’).
You can now drag widgets into the sidebar for each page in the Appearance >> Widgets section.
Thank you Batlarts for your advice.
I am so new to this website thing, I do not know how to rename the front-page.php
Same question: How do you rename the front-page.php?
Thanks!
Is there a way to have custom sidebars per page? This is great stuff!
