No clue why this is happening but my home page is showing every post we have ever made and in no discernable order.
Site is http://www.laprensalatina.com
• In settings -> Reading, I have it set to most recent posts with "6" as the limit.
• Changing the above limit has no effect
• I have disabled all plug-ins
• I have replaced all WP files with fresh copies
• This happens regardless of the active theme, even the default one
So I assume it has to be a setting in the database as everything else has been replaced. Anyone have an idea?
Your site is currently in maintenance mode. Unless we can see it, we can't really help.

My apologies! It has been disabled!
Try re-uploading all files & folders - except the wp-content folder - from a fresh download of WordPress. Then re-upload a fresh copy of the Twenty Eleven theme. Also try resetting the plugins folder by FTP or PhpMyAdmin. Sometimes, an apparently inactive plugin can still cause problems.

Already did all of that to no avail...that is why I am thinking it has to be something in the db.
Have you tried repairing your database? Do you have a recent database backup?

I have not...let me give that a shot really fast. Thanks!

No luck on the database repair either :(

That is to say, the repair completed with no complications but the display error remains.
Did you change the number of posts in Settings->Reading to a large number at any time previously?

Never...it was set on 8 and when this problem arose, I changed it to 6 just as a test and it had no effect at all.

Wiping and re-importing...last resort.

I've had exactly the same issue with a recent installation. I'm hoping to avoid reformatting the server with a new installation... will report back if I find anything of use!

It was apparently something in the db. My fresh install is working fine...just have to import a few thousand posts and clean up the aftermath now. Would love to hear any follow-up, Brutus.
Thanks for the effort, ESMI...wish we could have sorted it out!

I've just made the install on another server to test. Same issue - this must be an issue at the database level?
Maybe the database hasn't generated ID#s or date stamps?

Ouch... You mean you created a fresh db and will now be manually importing the posts?
That sucks! I guess I'd better make a big pot of coffee.

Incidentally - just a hunch: are you hosting with godaddy?

Not here...Hostgator. Having fits getting a clean import too.

Boutwell,
is there a way for you to see if on your previous installation all posts had been entered as 'sticky'?
This seems to be what the issue was in the end for me... it's a bit shameful I didn't work this out earlier, but thought I'd share nonetheless!
