homepage "HOME" slug and permalink

    Hi guys

    If I enter a slug (in Quick edit) for my homepage “HOME”, such as for example: slug-1, would my homepage url/permalink be http://www.mywebsite.com/slug-1 or would it always just be http://www.mywebsite.com? Or are both url valid?

    I am asking this because I am not sure which url to choose for creating backlinks for my homepage. A slug would allow me to add keywords to the homepage url, which is better for SEO.

    I really need help on this! 🙂
