I just published a new post and now my home page is going blank. I have no idea why. I can see the post if I click on the post's URL but when I go to the homepage itself, blank.
Any ideas?
My blog is http://www.dogsdontlookbothways.com/joeys_blog
and the new post (for example) is http://www.dogsdontlookbothways.com/joeys_blog/4032-my-country-tis-of-thee-and-samuel-francis-smith/ so you can see that the post itself is showing.

ahhh - joey is adorable. It is strange since it doesn't look like it's a new site or anything.
I'd start by checking:
1) Settings; General - make sure the blog address is still set to http://www.dogsdontlookbothways.com/joeys_blog
2) Settings; Reading - make sure the 'Front Page Displays' option is set to 'Your Latest Posts'. And that 'Blog pages show at most' is set to 1 or more.
3) Add a new test post - something short and without images just to make sure there isn't something about your last post which is causing the error.
Good luck.
I'd check and re-upload the index.php/header.php for the theme. It looks like it's not loading the body/sidebar/footer. Have you edited it?
Might be worth disabling any plugins too or switching to the default theme to see if it helps you narrow down the problem.

I tried #1, it was. I tried #2, it was. I didn't try #3 -it's a long story. But....

It's interesting because just yesterday I uploaded an upgrade for my Theme. And so I looked to disable my plugins as you suggested and noticed that - just today again - there is a new upgrade for my Theme again. So I uploaded and installed that - and boom! We're back in business! I'm guessing there was some problem with that upgrade (which I used for a total of one day) (that wasn't, as you suggested, loading the header and/or the sidebar).
