Hi there,
This is my first post :)
After migrating my wordpress site (http://www.rootcreations.co.uk), the Nivo slider on the front page is taking significantly longer to load than when I tested it previously. This site (http://www.zevendesign.com/) is using the same theme and you can see comparitively the load time is much quicker, The images are marginally samller on this page which I guess might make a slight difference although my load time does seem very long.
Obviously as the main featured image it would be great to have this appear first - Is there a way to remedy this or to give its load position a higher priority? (sorry fairly new to WP development so may require hand holding). I thought it might be caching problem but it hasn't made a difference clearing the cache. Obviously I want to optimize for the lowest common denominator.
I thought it might be the WP plugins that are slowing things up - although Im using Wp super Cache - I guess the only way to check is to disable them all - wondered if it may be residue code from redundant plugins that could be choking the page load time (not sure if this theory even holds up!) obviously as it's a significant feature of my landing page it'd be great to get it as swift as during testing (which it was!!). Until I'm happily convinced that it's as good as it gets I'm reluctant to direct potential clients to the site let alone spend hours on SEO if first time visitors are just going to leave -
If anyone can shed light on this or feedback how well this page loads in their browser I'd be really grateful
Cheers
