Support » Fixing WordPress » Home page trashed after upgrade

  • Last night I upgraded to 2.1.3 and all appeared to go well at first, but this morning I discovered that my homepage (http://www.wildmind.org) isn’t displaying properly; only the top of the page shows.

Any idea what might be causing this?

The page breaks roughly where the fold-page plugin starts, but that plugin’s supposed to be 2.1-ready.

  • Strange… No error messages. Did you upgrade as per the instructions? Make db backup, disable all plugins, upload new WP files, put back any mods you made, run /wp-admin/update.php, etc… Then log in the new WP, check all your settings, enable the plugins one by one checking all is OK after each?

Since a disabled plugin throws up errors which make the site unviewable I did everything you mention except for disabling the plugins first.

I’ve now commented out the foldpage plugin code on the home page and the page is now up, but of course lacking the menus.

This would suggest that it’s that plugin that’s causing the problem, EXCEPT that it’s working fine on other pages on the site.

So maybe it’s how I’m using the plugin that’s the problem. EXCEPT that it was working fine before and all that’s changed is the version of WordPress.

I’m mightily confused! I’d like my menus back.

Well, when I comment out the FPL code the page displays (minus the menus). I’m talking to the plugin developer but for now I’ve jsut hard-coded the nemu links.
