• Hello,

    I was wondering if there was a way to keep the home page slider a consistent size. As of now, it seems to adjust to the size of the image rather than staying constant. Is this possible or is this a premium option?

    Thanks!

  • If your max width and max height on the slider is larger then your photos it doesn’t work, use larger images, and it’s designed for landscape format images not portrait.

    Okay thanks. So even though some of my pictures are in portrait mode, there is no way to keep the slider a constant height/width? (e.g. I just want the slider to stay a constant size regardless of if the picture is portrait or landscape, given that they are large enough).

    Thanks!

    I’m working on an update that will have a slider that does this.

    Hopefully out in a couple hours.

    Here is the download: http://wordpress.org/themes/download/virtue.2.0.3.zip

    You can now choose carousel slider which should do what you want.

    Awesome thanks so much! Ill try it out and see how it works. Should I backup anything before I try it out just to make sure it doesn’t change any of the settings I currently have?

    The version has been released so you can just update in wordpress itself.

    Great thanks so much. It’s exactly what I was looking for. By the way, is there a way to change the caption font/color in the slider?

    Thanks again for all of your help and hard work!

    You have to edit it with css, what are you wanting to change?

    Im wanting to change the font/color of the text inside the carousel slider to match the Lato font in the menus.

    .captiontitle, .captiontext {
    background: transparent;
    font-weight: 400;
    text-shadow: none;
    }
    .flex-caption {
    color: #444;
    }

    this is my first attempt at creating a website for myself. I am trying with the Virtue theme – I keep creating photos in Picmonkey according to the slider specs – yet every time I upload a photo – it does not fill the width of the slider. I notice there are updates and downloads to Virtue – I am a total novice to web design and am not computer savvy. When I download the updates – it goes to my computer, how do I get it to go to the site? Thanks.

    Hey, you can update your site in the wordpress admin area. Go to dashboard > updates.
    What size photos are you using? If your photos are smaller than the width and height of the slider they won’t fit. You may want to use larger images. Can you post a link to your site?

    Hi Hannah – sorry it took me so very long to reply – especially since your responded so quickly.

    I thought my picture sizing was correct. I sized it on Picmonkey – unless the size is off.

    Yeah, it looks like your image isn’t large enough. For fullwidth you want it to be somewhere around 1100 x 450.
