   First a couple details, in our WordPress install we use a static front page with posts divided into categories and posts in some categories show up on the main page and others in different parts of the site, WordPress is basically used as a CMS.

   Well tonight a strange problem developed, if you type in the address of the site you are taken to the 404 page because it's trying to goto a post we posted earlier in the night. But now someone on the team when in an deleted the post so it's showing the 404 page. However if you type in the url plus /index.php you are taken to the correct static main page.

   Any ideas on what I can do to fix this problem?
