Hello, just as I thought I'd cracked it!!!

I have WP Twenty Ten and have created a Child Theme. All has been fine with set-up and modification until today...

I added 2 new pages (using my version of one column template) as child pages to my T-Shirt page.

I have Pretty Permalinks set up so my new pages were set as http://www.myurl/T-shirt/London-Designs and ditto/Windsor-Designs

Unfortunately T-shirts is now my home page!

I niticed something odd in the Permalinks Settings... where I typed a custom URL to specify the Pretty Permalink e.g. http://www.mydomain.com/contact it has changed to /http:/www.mydomain.com/contact - is this correct behaviour?

I have deactivated and reactivated my plugins as I read somewhere that this is a common culprit apart from that I am stuck!

    Yes it's set as http://www.mydomain.com/blog

It's been fine until I added the 2 pages with T-Shirt page as parent today.

Read through the link to permalinks but nothing seems wrong.

your permalinks in settings->permalinks are actually set to 'http://www.mydomain.com/blog'? Cuz that would certainly not be right....

No. I chose the custom option and typed http://www.mydomain.com/blog it has been fine.
I have also reset it to read http://www.mydomain.com/art and it worked just fine

I have checked the permalinks at the top of each page in edit mode and they read ok e.g. home page http://www.mydomain.com/

but when I view the website my home page url becomes http://www.mydomain.com/t-shirts/windsor-design-2 (this is being stored somewhereand updated as there was a '1' earlier)
