Hi
I have just set up my blog.
If I type http://www.jf-creativity.com I get a message from my host stating that it didn't find a valid home page. How do I create one in WordPress? I want this home page to have my blogs on it. I've created a post and am not sure where it is at present - but the above would fix that. My about page is showing when I type http://www.jf-creativity.com/about or http://www.jf-creativity.com/about-john-fraser.
Help is very welcome
It looks like you've still got your hosting companies "holding" page set up. This shoudl be easy to get rid of though.
You will need either FTP access or a file manager through your hosting acounts control panel. You need to get into your websites main public folder (this is normally public_html, www, public or some other silimar variation). When you are there you should see two index files. One will be index.php and one will be index.html or .htm. When you see that, delete the index.htm(l) file and leave only the index.php file.

Thank you so much! It worked!
(For my host the public folder is named HTDOCS, but that is where Filezilla put me anyway when I logged in.)
Though simple to fix when I knew how, I wouldn't have got here easily (if at all?) without the help.
Now to customise the look of my blog a bit...
Thanks again
Best wishes
John
