Home page in domain, blog in subdomain, page in other subdomain (4 posts)

    Hi everyboy,

currently I have the following setup of WordPress:
    - static html page (outside WP) on xxx.net
    - Blog (WP loop) on blog.xxx.net
    - Gallery (Gallery2 standalone, outside WP) on gallery.xxx.net

I would like to do two things now:
    - Replace the static html page on xxx.net with a WP static home page
    - Replace the standalone gallery with WP internal gallery

However I would like to keep the old domain/subdomain scheme, so if someone visits xxx.net, the static home page of WP will be shown, gallery.xxx.net will be a WP page called "gallery" where I will display the WP albums, and blog.xxx.net will directly display the WP loop for posts.

Is there any way to achieve this at all?

    Thanks for your help!

    Cheers

Many would simply add 301 Redirect Rules in .htacess to direct visitors of old links to new pages. Example:

    Redirect 301 /olddomain.html http://www.newsite.com/page-title/

Some may use this plugin if not good at coding:

    Thanks.

But that way the address would also change with the redirect to xxx.net/gallery rather than gallery.xxx.net, right?

Yes, but anyone with old link would be redirected to new link...Once site is re-setup, resubmit your sitemap (eventually you should see that the old links are no longer being accessed and the rules can be removed)
