    Hi,

I am test driving Responsive, with a view to changing from Twenty Eleven, using Theme Test Drive plugin.

My home page is not set up like your demo version, and changes I make in Theme Options are not showing. I wonder if I need to change my static front page or something? At the moment in the drop-down menu to choose the static front page I just click on a blank (unnamed) front page that I was using before. I prefer your default layout (if that's what it is) as it appears in the demo... How can I get it?

As you will have guessed I am an amateur, though I am quite proud of my site which is now at http://www.cmcsolicitor.ie :)

Thanks in advance for your assistance.
    Claire

    Hi Claire,

The reason behind seems to be the setup from "Reading Settings". Please check yours and match them with this image.

You're also more than welcome to visit our dedicated forum.

    Thanks,
    Emil

Ok thanks Emil - this is kind of counter-intuitive as your design looks more like a website than a blog, which is what I want. I will still end up with what is effectively a static front page, I guess...

Hi, I would like to do a similar treatment to the Home page as Claire has done, with a full width image (like her water scene), the second 'floating' image (like her scales) and the overlaying text.

At present I am simply using the layout as it appears when installed...text and button to the left and rectangular image to the right.

Is this simply a matter of replacing the smaller rectangular image on the right with one that spans the desired width?

I hope I have explained that well enough.

    Many Thanks,
    F Verni
