Using WP for a website + a blog.

How do I get the 1st page to show my homepage rather than this? coinsandhistory.com

I know there are posts showing how to make the Home page point somewhere but nowhere on my site do I have a panel asking where to point my home page to.

There’s nothing like that amount of detail.
I’m using the custom “X” theme.

    I think you’re referring to http://codex.wordpress.org/Creating_a_Static_Front_Page

Please note that you will need to publish at least one Page, or the option won’t appear.

Thanks very much. You’re correct that is the codex paragraph to which I’m referring. It seems to share NOTHING in common with my WP options. I have 3 published pages: blog, home, and “sample page”. Still the option does not appear. There is no option anywhere for where my homepage appears. I know everyone knows how to do this but after 2 days of searching I have not found it.

Why does everybody else but me know that “of course one must do Assembly level coding of the the php database” to get options to show but that’s just “so obvious” that it’s documented nowhere?

    Never mind it was under
    Setting> Reading> Front Page

    guess no one really knew.

Yep, like the documentation says, “Go to Administration > Settings > Reading panel. Set Front page displays to a static page.” 😉
