Hi, I am working on a site using the Lucid theme from Elegant themes URL is http://bookwormtranslations.com/. I have got pretty much everything translating as it should apart from the home link on the topnav and breadcrumb. The home link is not a page it is just appended to the nav bar by the theme so there is no page to translate (the front page is set to display posts). Is there anyway I can set a translation for the home link? Thanks 🙂

    Below are my Polylang settings:
. When the front page is visited, set the language according to the browser preference – Yes
. The language is set from content. Posts, pages, categories and tags urls are not modified.
. Remove /language/ in pretty permalinks. Example: http://www.bookwormtranslations.com/en/.
Hide URL language information for default language – Yes.

Is this “Home” string hardcoded in the theme code or is it an option that you have access to?

I set the option to append the home link to the nav bar in the theme settings, I have not hardcoded it in. The only coding I have done on the home page is to get the text placed in the body of the home page based on the URL i.e. /fr/ to get the french text and this has been done in my child theme. Thanks.

I browsed a few pages on your site and I believe that your theme is not translated in French.

According to the authors, it is ready for translation. Google helped me finding a paid translation of this theme but you can do it yourself using the plugin Codestyling localization. Most probably, you will find “Home” among all the strings to translate.

Once the translation is done, Polylang will be able to load it according to the request.

Great thanks very much. I used the plugin you suggested and it picked up “Home” so now I can translate the rest of the site 🙂 Thanks again for the help
