Hiding Access Restricted Content Only On Parts of a Page

Is there any way to only hide access restricted content on a page while making other parts of the page (that is not restricted) visible? I have a learning plugin that I am using Groups with and if a user doesn’t have the capability to view a certain lesson, I don’t want it to show up in the list of lessons.

I only want the lessons that they have capabilities to access to show up on the front end.

Right now, it shows all lessons so when user clicks on the link, it takes them to the 404 page. I don’t want them to even see the link to get this far.
