   Hi,

   I am creating a site with WordPress, and was wondering if there is a way of making it private from the world whilst it is at this stage, because it appears that all-&-sundry can see the works in progress!?!?!

   Ideally I would like to put up a page with maybe just my logo on and some text saying "Website under Development", but not really sure how to do that either ..

   Any help will be much appreciated :)

   You can save your post or pages in private first.

   Try installing a maintenance mode plugin.

   What works well for me is to create a "Coming Soon" page and publish it. Then go to Settings >> Reading and choose that page as your Front Page. For some clients I also put a sign-up box on that page for people who want to be notified when the site goes live.
