Add the css class to the global options and save the settings. After this reload you find this option on all roles on your install and you can hide on each role.

Can you write the exact syntax? I’m using WP 3.6.1
Some folks are not full-fledged Web developers (probably just Web designers) so a Plugin Author’s instructions can seem a bit frustrating and/or confusing. So here’s what you folks need to do:
As Frank instructed:
Go to ADMINIZED > GLOBAL OPTIONS
1. In the first box add “WordPress UPDATE” or similar – whatever you want to the label to be.
2. In the adjacent box add the DIV class for the update notification bar, which is “.update-nag”.
3. Click the “Update Options” button.
Go back to GLOBAL OPTIONS and your WordPress UPDATE selection should now be visible!
