hide text on post excerpts
-
is there a way to show less text than i am showing here on these excerpts on the posts? i’d like it to just show the title and say “read more” or something to that effect.

in short i don’t want these big blocks of text under each post on the homepage. any help is much appreciated!

it’s a twenty twelve child theme
what is the current code of content.php in the child theme?
you will need to remove
the_excerpt()
from the code; possibly using a conditional stateent to make that specific for the posts page.
and also rearrange the title and post-thumbnail…glad you asked. actually to create the double columns and the post excerpts, i jacked with a base .php file in the twenty twelve theme itself — maybe it was content.php, not sure.
this was a few weeks ago before i understood about the need to set up a child theme which i have since set up.
this is the code i have in the base content.php file. not sure if that will make it clear to you what i did

do you think there a change i need to make in the above code from content.php to hide the excerpts of the text on my homepage, or is it located elsewhere?
