I am using the theme FILTERED by theme trust, in order to show pics on the home page, they need to be in 960x320 format, so i have created a 3 projects and inserted 1 image ( x3) so they show nicely on the home page. BUT, on the home page, i now have some blank white gaps that i think are these posts. Advice? I have made sure the block asking to post on the home page is not ticked, and have made the page private.

As this is a commercial theme, we cannot really help. You need to seek support from the theme vendors: http://themetrust.com/support-forums/
