Hide or Show Categories based on user rolls

in my search for a solution to hide categories from public (visitors and no registered users), I came across a plugin that is (was) designed to do so based on roles, but not for public. “Restrict Categories”.
A further search led me to “CaPa” plugin which according to the screenshot is what I seek, but the plugin is not updated for over two years, so that I do not trust very much according to operation.
With this plugin, I could also manage access categories for ‘Visitors’
