Hide Option for Custom Fields (2 posts)

    I have my blog setup so all new users have author rights and can submit posts without moderation. I am also using plugins for ratins and page views that store the values in custom fields for each post. The problem is that once the post has been made, that user can go and modify the values for the rating or page view custom fields. How do I remove the ability for everyone excep the admin to edit the custom fields?

    I am using WP 2.0.4 with the WP-PostRatings and WP-PostViews plugins from http://www.lesterchan.net/portfolio/programming.php.

    Thank you.

    I edited the edit-form-advanced.php file in the wp-admin folder. I then went to line 235 where this is written: <div class="dbx-box-wrapper">. I deleted that line, yes include that line, and I deleted down to line 282, yes include line 282, where this is written: </div>. So delete lines 235-282.

    Then in the end you will have these two pieces of code next to one another:
    <div id="advancedstuff" class="dbx-group" >
    <?php do_action('dbx_post_advanced'); ?>

    I used Dreamweaver to do the editing because I could undo the deletions if I had any problems. Make sure your editing program has an undo feature. And make sure it supports many undos in a row.

    Hope this helps, 4 months later.
