   Is it possible to hide all the comment section on static pages? I couldn't figure that out yet.

   You can turn off comments for pages by editing the page, clicking on "Screen Options" and checking the box for "Discussion"

   This will make a Widget box called "Discussion" to show up on the edit page, and allow you to turn them off.

   it worked just fine.
   although I'm still wondering why there's this "comments are closed." line in stead of the comment section. It would be cool to just have no reference to comments on static pages, no?

   That's a theme thing.

   if you're using 2011, you can set #nocomments to display:none.
