   I want to create blog posts that are able to be reached by a link but don't actually show up in the "blog" section.

   Is this possible through categories? Can I hide a category??

   Any other suggestions would be appreciated if there are any.

   Or is there a plugin that will create something like this? I want to post recipes on my webpage but dont' want them as a "page" or filling up my blog...

   Totally, but you'll probably have to jump into some code. Are you comfortable with that?

   By blog, I'm assuming you're talking about your front page?
