Hide a page from top menu (3 posts)

I have some pages that I don't want to show on the top menu. I've unchecked the "show in menu" but it's still showing in the theme I've created. However, in another theme I've created it doesn't show - but it's not the theme I want to use.

I'm using Artisteer to create the theme and I can't figure out what I did to make pages hideable in one theme but not in another

    All help welcome. Thanks

Have you set up your menu\pages through the WP MENU?
if nothing is set there most themes automatically pull all pages.

I believe so - when I compare the 2 themes - the one that works & the one that doesn't - the menu screen looks the same (except for the page names and the menu name)
