I've paid a chap to build my sites using a Gabfire Theme.
He's good but he disappears for days on end.
I also have more questions and queries about building than he can handle.
Both the sites in question are currently in /wp status
I may need to put them both online and he's not around.
First - can someone tell me how to stick a site online myself from /wp status, and how to load wordpress and my gabfire theme on to a series of sites I have.
Second - I bought a teach yourself wordpress book, which, to be honest, seems to leave gaps in and is not massively useful.
I want personal control of wordpress and my sites. I can't be held to ransom by anyone, however nice they are, because they've got a new job or gone on holiday or something.
I was hoping I could sign on when I ran out of cash and put in for a WordPress course but we all know how that turns out.
Is there a really good teach yourself wordpress book and teach yourself html book that is detailed and professional and which you can teach yourself at your pc if you are an old fart and know nothing of IT? I just don't understand code. I need to understand everything about it from the elementals of how it actually functions to get into it, and learn it like I'd learn a spoken language.
