Help! wp-cron.php chewing up CPU time

    I am using WordPress 2.8.5. I am running the default theme. I am only running two plug-ins: AKismet and WP-Super Cache.

    I am being told that wp-cron.php is chewing up enormous amounts of CPU time. I have no scheduled posts. Why is wp-cron.php using time and what can I do about it?

    BIG PROBLEM.
