I am new to word press and cannot seem to get things in order to upload. I see this message on the upload page. **It doesn't look like you can use the file upload feature at this time because the directory you have specified doesn't appear to be writable by WordPress. Check the permissions on the directory and for typos.** I have checked for typos, but that doesn't seem to be the problem. I am wondering where to find the directory so that I may change the permissions. Thanks in advance for the help.

See Changing_File_Permissions for step by step instructions.

You have to instruct your server to give permission for that folder or file to be used. It's part of your security protection.

Are you uploading the file using FTP or WordPress' upload manager?

If you are using WP's upload manager, make sure that "mp3" is listed in the "Allowed file extensions:" section of Options/Miscellanious.

If you are using FTP, try a different FTP client like Cyberduck (Mac) or FileZilla (PC).
