[resolved] Help with Thematic theme (4 posts)

I've been trying for the past week to integrate a WP theme into an existing website. I want to keep the site's overall look and navigation and I also want a fully functional blog.

My first attempt was with the default twenty ten theme. When that didn't work, I thought that it was because 2010 is a fixed width theme at 940px and I was trying to squeeze it into an 868 px content area. I tried but could not figure out how to adjust the size of the content and sidebar.

So I thought of another solution, which was to use a fluid width theme. I chose Thematic for this task. Unfortunately, I have the same problems that I had with 2010. the sidebar drops to the bottom of the content area instead of appearing to the right.

Can anyone tell me what I need to do to get this to work?

Since this post isn't getting much attention, I'm going to update it and then close it. I'm still having problems, so I'll start a new thread on the new problem.

I was able to get blog with a sidebar to work by using a two column template and sticking the sidebar php call in the second column. I don't know if this is the best way to do it, but it's working.

    Hey Emilio,
I have just released an alpha version of a child theme for TwentyTen which should make it fluid (and responsive). Perhaps you can gve this a whirl. Note though that this is only at early stages and does not yet work fluidly in IE.
Id you fancy trying it out you can download it here
Please let me know if this is of use to you.

Turns out the problem I had was related to the fact that the stylee.css sheet wasn't being loaded into the header.php file. Once I reinserted the link to the style sheet everything worked perfectly. You can see the results of the integration here:
