    Hello, I'm still unexperienced and the 5-minute installation turned out to be a problem for me.
    Here's what I want to do: I want to set up a blog on a local host.
    - I signed up in a hosting site, and got the username and password. My personal space looks like http://storex.xxxx.bg/myusername/ and the password to upload is the one I specified. No problems here.
    - I downloaded wordpress, unzipped and supposedly, I did what I was told in the manual. What I did looks like this:

    I used notepad to edit the config file. I filled the NAME, USER and PASSWORD fields as follows:
    NAME: storex.xxxx.bg;
    USER: the username with which I signed up in the hosting site; (Is this MySQL username?)
    PASSWORD: the password I use to access my account and upload things.
    WPLANG: I filled in with the initials for my language.
    I suspect that if there's a mistake, it's here.
    - I ran install and it gave me this

    error.

    1. Your site's admin user/pw combination has NOTHING to do with the database password and username.
    2. Do you have a MySQL database set up on your host? Or, can you create one?
    3. Leave the language part for now, it comes late (and there is no language code "xx" :)
    4. Did you edit and uploaded the config file correctly? Did you re-name the sample file to wp-config.php?

    And a quick question: you mentioned installing it on "localhost" and later said something about a hosting account. These two things are NOT the same!
