Help with Robots Meta Configuration plugin

    Have a few questions if someone can help me with the Robots Meta Configuration plugin.

    I have a static website with also a blog, 2 authors for blog.
    Im trying to avoid as much dup. content as possible.
    What does these 2 things here mean and should they be checked.
    Category archives
    If you’re using tags as your only way of structure on your site, you would probably be better off when you prevent your categories from being indexed.

    Tag archives
    Read the categories explanation above for categories and switch the words category and tag around 😉

    also does this plugin over ride my robots.txt file I have??
    I looked and the robot file I had created is still in my root, so unsure if it effects any of this.
