I'm new to wordpress. When I write a paragraph I'll space down several lines to start a new area. Then type. When I save the post it pushes everything back up and doesn't retain my spacing, etc.
What am I doing wrong?

You are experiencing the same frustration that MANY others have expressed - the TinyMCE editor is not your typical word processor. I like Dean's FCKEditor much better.
