• I’m not sure if this is a really simple problem I just havent been able to solve, or if it’s something more complex. Though to begin with I should state that I am new to all of this so you might have to dumb it down a bit for me to keep up.

    Heres the site http://www.SuBella.com

Basically, I’m trying to create this site to have 3 separate blog pages.
Each one is completely different and I’m wondering if there is a way that I can separate posts when I’m creating them to only go into one specific page.

So far I have been able to change where my posts go, and that is straight to Courtney’s page. But with the current setup, everything on her page also goes on Ashley’s.

Please help if you can. Thank you!

Oh and Im using WooTheme’s Canvas theme and I would prefer to stick with it for now but let me know if that’s my problem.

I think that what you want to do is to create posts and set them in 3 different categories, then in your navigation, link to the 3 categories.

As far as the posts go I have them all selected under a category of “Courtney” which is the same as the page name.

How do I link them to only a specific page?

Normally, you don’t link posts to a page.

Pages are used for your static content… ie. contact, about, etc…

Posts are displayed in categories… thus you can have a page called Courtney, but you will display your posts mark Courtney in the Courtney category.

I understand generally what theyre used for but tons of sites do it, I’m just wondering if it’s over my head or not.

http://www.techcrunch.com is the first example I could find in a quick search. They have different content posted on different pages.

Sorry, but that’s not right… They have post displaying in different CATEGORIES… .NOT PAGES.

When you click through the buttons on the nav bar, there is different content on each one.

Thats all I am trying to accomplish.

Christine is using the term ‘pages’ in the WordPress context, while you’re using the generic understanding of the term ‘pages’. A ‘page’ in WordPress is a very specific term for a type of content.

If you click on the category name in a post, it shows you all the posts in that category. Take a look at the URL. It should have category/<category-name> somewhere in it. All you have to do is to create links with that URL in your menu.

If your theme uses dynamic menus, you can edit it under Appearance -> Menus.

If you’ve paid for your theme, you could ask your theme vendors for support.

Thank you fonglh, that actually helps more than you know.

Christine, I felt like I was beating my head against a brickwall. Sorry for my misunderstanding. Thank you for your time and cooperation.

    Cheers!
