I uninstalled the WordPress from Godaddy then uploaded it again and updated to 3.4.2

Now I cannot see any of my posts and the site is totally gone as if I am starting all over again.

I did download my wp-content through filezilla so that's available. My older folders and files still show up in the new installation.

I need to know how to get my sites posts back up.

    Try:
    - switching to the Twenty Eleven theme by renaming your current theme's folder inside wp-content/themes and adding "-old" to the end of the folder name using FTP or whatever file management application your host provides.

    - resetting the plugins folder by FTP or phpMyAdmin.

    - re-uploading all files & folders - except the wp-content folder - from a fresh download of WordPress.

    - running the upgrade manually via wp-admin/upgrade.php

I have the new 3.4.2 WP installed. I need to know how to get my old posts back on the site using the wp-content folder I downloaded through filezilla.

  5. The wp-content folder holds your themes, plugins and uploaded flies and images. Your posts are located in the database. You will need to use GoDaddy's control panel to download a backup of your database.

I did not download a backup of my data base before uninstalling the wp application. Would this cause me to lose all my posts?
