    Hi.
I am trying to build a site similar to http://www.abc.net.au/news/upload/

The post section I want to be white and the lower or footer section, grey with navigation.

I have been trying using various snippets of code, but am making a serious mess of things. It appears what I'm trying to achieve should be fairly simple, but looking at the code of something like the hemingway theme, which is aesthetically similar, the code looks incredibly complex.

Any ideas or pointers for sorting this out, i seriously don't know where to go from here other than continuing blindly with trial and error as I have for the last few days.

the site is here http://michaelclements.co.uk and I have made the theme I'm working on active, bear in mind it's a complete mess at the moment, but you should get the idea of what I'm trying to do.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I think I see what you're trying to do. I'm not sure where you're getting stuck though. Based on what I see at your site, I'm assuming that you're still trying to get more content into your footer, but I could be wrong. You should be able to copy the navigational elements from your sidebar.php and put them into the footer.php. Then you can adjust them to your liking. This probably isn't much help, but the question was pretty broad so I'm not sure exactly what to tell you. If you can explain more specifically what problems you're having, we can try to help you out some more.

I like your theme, by the way.

Okay all sorted. Just a lot of pushing code around a little luck. Thanks anyways. M.
