Hey, I'm a wordpress newbie, mainly wanting to use my blog to document traveling I will be doing in the next year to share w/ family & friends. I chose the Grisaille by Nudge Design theme for right now, and I like it the way it is mostly, but I want to change the font/size of the header.... does anyone know what edits I have to do in the CSS to make it so I can customize the header font/size?

My blog header is long, so it makes it look really awkwad - if you want to know what I'm talking about you can just look - http://www.mayalivesonearth.com

Or if anyone can suggest some simple looking themes good for a travel blog?

It would be a GREAT help! Thank you!

I think it would be best to either use a Child Theme or Custom Style/CSS plugin to change the appearance.
    Have you either?

What does the Custom CSS manager do? I'm new to this, so I know almost zero about CSS... and what is Child Theme? When I click on the link you posted it just takes me back to the Forums homepage.

    Thank you!

Oooh, if the Custom Style/CSS the thing you pay for so you can make custom designs, yes, I have that. But I don't know how to edit the CSS for the current theme I'm using so I can just keep everything the same and just change the font/size of the header.

I'm sorry, this is the Child Theme link
    codex.wordpress.org/Child_Themes

The Custom Style/CSS plugin just gives an area in the Dashboard where you can add your own CSS, which is generally easier than modifying styles using a Child Theme.

I'm pointing you to these directions because modifications to original theme files (if not custom themes) will erase once the theme updates.

Hmm... okay, well I think I downloaded the Custom Style/CSS plugin... but so far it's just a folder sitting on my desktop...

I think I realized what the problem is... I didn't ever actually download wordpress... I just signed up using the free site, and then upgraded... to the custom design/no ads... etc...

Well, I downloaded it now and dragged the plugin where it said... still confused though... haha.

Perhaps I should do a one-click install or just forget the whole thing and use the free one.... and just find another theme that I like and don't need to change too much. This is all getting very advanced, lol.
