[resolved] HELP!!! Syntax Error in Theme - I'm Locked Out! (4 posts)

    Hi,
I downloaded the iBlog free theme this evening and was customizing it with some simple widgets and just getting used to it. I went to twitter.com/goodies to add a TWEET button. I tried pasting that code into the Single Post Page, but was unable to. I must not have properly undone my last attempt at this, because I got a syntax error as follows:

Parse error: syntax error, unexpected '<' in /home2/bencleme/public_html/wp-content/themes/iblog/config/config_page_post.php on line 127

I went to line 127 and couldn't seem to figure it out.

The problem is, now I can't go to my site, my dashboard, ANYWHERE! So I can't even restore the theme to the defaults or a backup version. Please help me, I don't want to lose all my content into the black hole of syntax error hell!!!!

    Thank you,

    BC

  2. Access your server via FTP or SFTP, navigate to /wp-content/themes/ and rename the directory of your currently active theme. This will force the Default theme (WordPress 1.5 - 2.9.2) or the Twenty Ten theme (WordPress 3.0 and higher) to activate and you'll be able to access your blog.

    James (MacManX),
I just wanted to let you know that this issue was resolved first thing this morning based on the advice you gave me. Thank you!!!!!

I had never done the dirty work of getting familiar with the management of my files on the server - screwing up my theme royally, then following your advice, forced me to learn it.

    Anyways, thanks man...good stuff.
