I am putting together a fundraiser scheduled for six weeks from now and was hoping I could get some advice as to the best way to set up a good site. Initially, I figured that wordpress would be the best alternative but I wanted to see if anyone out there had some enlightened suggestions as I am still very new to establishing well designed and fully operational sites.

Essentially what I am working on is a charity event taking place in six weeks and I would like to be able to do the following after I have found the right theme:

    1. Set a static front page with an introduction to the charity and the fundraiser.
    2. Create other pages with more specific information (participate, donate via pay pal etc)
    3. Use the blog posts tool for latest information.

I don't know if this fits in with the wordpress.com Terms Of Service so I was wondering if anyone had some advice as to whether or not I could get this together.

    Thanks in advance!

Really, due to the timescale I would just ask the wp.com staff. They normally get back to you pretty quickly. using the wp.com service means you won't have to worry about getting the hosting, installing the software, finding and uploading the theme, finding the right plugin to do the static page thing etc.

It can be done using either method...
