• I’m giving 3.3-beta-1 a thorough test run, and got very frustrated when I couldn’t figure out how to enable comments on a Post. I just couldn’t figure it out, and neither could any of my coworkers.

When someone told me to visit the Help link in the admin bar, I thought it was a curt way for me to read about where to find the Screen Options myself, never expecting the actual Screen Options to be there! To me, this makes no sense at all.

Help should provide *information* about how to use the features of the page, and not provide any actual features, options, or functionality.

Pretty much everyone I’ve talked to, including in #wordpress-dev, seems to think this isn’t the best place for Screen Options, and the other commenters in Trac seem in line as well.

I don’t want to speak for everyone, and I’m not any kind of User Interface/Experience expert, but am an active WP developer and wanted to at least throw my 2 cents in to see if I could have an impact before this goes live. Thanks 🙂
